Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Review, Specifications and Price





The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is one of the hottest Samsung android smartphones in 2020. The phone is armed with some top-notch features and it is the biggest of the Galaxy S20 lineup. Since we have seen features and prices of the lower models- Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus, it will be fair to also check what the S20 Ultra has got to offer.



Design and Display

Let us start with the design. The Galaxy S20 Ultra comes in a similar design as the other lower models. One of the noticeable differences in their design is the rear camera setup. A glance at the Galaxy S20 Ultra, you will notice that the android smartphone has a square shape camera setup at the back and as well houses more camera sensors than the lower models.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra weighs 222 grams which is actually few grams heavier than S20 and S20 Plus. It comes in a metal frame body with the back panel slapped with Gorilla Glass 6. Also, the smartphone comes with a hybrid SIM slot for one SIM and MicroSD card or a dual SIMs without an SD card.

Moving on, Samsung Galaxy S20 can withstand being submerged in a 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. The phone comes in two color options which include Cosmic Grey and Cosmic Black.

In terms of display, Galaxy S20 Ultra sports a big 6.9-inch Quad HD display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. The Dynamic AMOLED display is one of the best kinds of display available in any smartphone in the market, with an aspect ratio of 511 ppi and 89.9% screen to body ratio.

The screen offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The device has curved edges and bezels. It also features the Infinity-O punch-hole which houses the front camera.



Camera and Battery

For optics, Samsung Galaxy S20 is equipped with a massive 108MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 48MP telephoto shooter with f/3.6 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 0.3MP depth sensor. All these cameras work in perfect harmony to deliver the best photographs. The main camera can take 10X optical zoom and it supports gyro- electronic image stabilization (EIS) and optical image stabilization (OIS). There is a single led flash at the rear for low light photography and the camera features Dual video calls and Auto HDR.

For selfies, Galaxy S20 Ultra features a massive 40MP camera that can shoot 4k videos at 30 to 60fps and 1080p at 30fps.

For power, the phone boasts of a 5000mAh battery that supports up to 45W fast charging. Just plug-in the smartphone when you are low on battery and have it fully charged 100% within 1hr and 14 minutes. That’s not all. The phone also supports Qi/PMA wireless charging technology at 15W and Power bank or Reverse wireless charging at 9W. Isn’t that awesome?

Other features include an on-display fingerprint scanner, 4G, 5G networks, and the connectivity option includes Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and FM Radio.



Hardware and Software

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset for the USA and an Exynos 990 chipset for the global market. Assisting the chipset for both markets is an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz for the global market and 2.8GHz for the USA market. Also, there is a Mali-G77 MP11 for the global and an Adreno 650 GPU for the USA.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra runs on Android 10Q with OneUI 2 skin. The android smartphone comes in 12GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage or 12GB and 256GB of internal storage or 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage, depending on your need and budget. The storage capacities can also be expanded via a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is currently sold at the price of $1300-$1600 depending on the configuration you are going for.
